Jerwood Sculpture Prize
The Jerwood Sculpture Prize was launched in 2001 by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation which has undertaken Jerwood's revenue grant activity since 1999. Like the Foundation, the Charity's aims and goals are to find responsible and imaginative initiatives to support talented professionals in the early years of their careers. Under its Jerwood Visual Arts programme, the Charity runs prizes for sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, the moving image and the applied arts.
The Jerwood Sculpture Prize aims to give support and encouragement to emerging talent within the medium of outdoor sculpture. Open to all artists within fifteen years of graduation from a recognised School of Art, it is a commissioning award worth £25,000 and the commissioned work from each Prize joins the Jerwood Sculpture collection at Ragley. The Prize is offered approximately every eighteen months, allowing each Prize commission to be completed before the next Prize is launched.
